How to solve the puzzles in RUNED

To unlock all the hidden puzzles in the book, you must first read the entire story and examine each page carefully. Pay attention to unusual details as they might be the key to solving the mysteries.

Once you are done, do not put the book away. 

 

Breathe on the black field in the foreword or place your warm hand on it to activate the first magic ink. The password will appear below the black field and marks the beginning of your puzzle journey.

 

For the best RUNED puzzle experience,ro it is recommended to use a UV lamp . It will reveal invisible clues and let you experience the full glowing magic of the book.

 

It is best to be in a dark room and shine the UV light very close to the pages so that the fluorescent ink is activated to the maximum. Then switch off the UV light to see the full luminous effect. The ink glows by itself.

Do I need a UV lamp?

A UV lamp or black light lamp is optional, but recommended for the full RUNED experience with glowing ink.
These are available for between €5 and €20 on Amazon and other retailers.

However, UV light is also present in natural sunlight.

Theoretically, you can solve the puzzles without UV light, but then you won't get the full WOW factor with the glowing inks.

 

For a limited time, a RUNED UV lamp is available for free as a goodie with the book. However, due to strict electrical appliance regulations, it may not be included depending on your country or specific retailer. It is best to just buy the book and see if a lamp is included as a bonus item. The price is the same with or without the lamp, as it is a free bonus item.

Do I need to create a user account?

You do not need to create a user account. User accounts are only relevant for orders in the shop.

Is upper and lower case important in the puzzles?

Passwords are case-sensitive. The book always gives you the right clues to solve the puzzle.

Can I solve the puzzles in any order?

You must solve all puzzles in chronological order, one after the other. You always start with puzzle 1 and end with the last puzzle.

The first password for puzzle 1 can be found in the foreword of the book.

Your progress and passwords are not saved on the website. If you want to save a password, you must do so yourself using your browser or your own notes.

If you click “Back” in your browser on a puzzle page with a password field, you may be taken to the previous puzzle with the previous password. Therefore, always check the browser tab to see which puzzle you are currently on.

How do I know if the password is incorrect?

There is no visual indication that your password is incorrect. If you are unable to proceed with your password, it is simply incorrect. Either it is completely wrong or it has been entered incorrectly (e.g., upper and lower case letters, missing spaces, etc.).
